ICOMIA World Marina Conference Reconnect Webinars

TransEurope Marinas - 01 October 2020

TransEurope Marinas is represented amongst global experts for this new series of webinars, debating the challenges currently facing the marina industry and laying a course for the future.

The ICOMIA World Marina Conference Reconnect Event is an opportunity for the nautical community to share, compare and analyse how recent events have affected boating activity across the globe.

Having been obliged to make a swift transition into conducting business and communications online, the virtual platform is a perfect setting to explore how best we can address new challenges and assess our readiness to embrace them. From tech to eco-tourism, this October webinar series brings together panels of industry leaders and specialists to discuss an engaging array of topics:

  • State of the industry around the globe | October 6 – 10:00 UTC

An update on the impact of Covid-19 pandemic around the globe and how marinas have adapted in this new reality.

  • Boating and Tourism with COVID19: What comes next? | October 13 – 11:00 UTC

Key representatives from international tourism, boating and aviation organisations offer their perspectives and insights regarding future developments.

  • Technology looking forward | October 20 – 11:00 UTC

From disruption to digital relationships, this panel explores some of the key skills, tools and insights required to prepare for a tech-oriented future.

  • Vision of CHANGE | October 27 – 12:00 UTC

How to work towards future-proofing marinas, covering stakeholder engagement, perceived access barriers to boating, community interaction and environmental factors.

Under the right conditions, periods of significant upheaval can stimulate growth and positive transformation. It is therefore important that as a coordinated and collaborative body, the industry continues to work together to ensure a successful and healthy future for boating and marinas.

TransEurope Marinas’ Treasurer Renata Marevic, manager of the multiple award-wining Marina Punat in Croatia, will be describing stakeholder engagement and how she has sought creative and synergistic solutions to resolve issues, increase productivity and attract more people to boating. This session, focussed on aspects of sustainability, and including new ICOMIA president Sara Anghel and sailing icon Dee Caffari, will be chaired by TransEurope general secretary, Melanie Symes.  The “Technology looking forward” webinar, is moderated by Idan Cohen, CEO of  TransEurope’s digital partner, Pick a Pier.

My sincere advice to any marina professional, is to not miss this opportunity to learn from the best, obtain the latest Industry perspectives first-hand and add your voice during this unique event.

Martinho Fortunato | Chair of ICOMIA Marinas Group.
